The University of Miami has a great opportunity for a Risk Management Analyst to work at the Coral Gables Campus.

The Risk Management Analyst – Insurance (RMA-I) has responsibility for the day to day management of the University property and casualty insurance program and in-house managed claims . The RMA-I analyzes data from various sources and creates underwriting submissions for insurance program renewals. The RMA-I has reporting responsibility for changes in schedules to ensure compliance with insurance policy terms. The RMA-I leads projects and serves as a liaison to various internal units, teams, committees, and external vendors for the insurance program.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

Performs a variety of data analysis to support the needs, goals, and objectives of the institution. A detailed understanding of insurance requirements and context for insurance renewal data is essential. Responsible for issuance of certificates of insurance on behalf of institution, working with broker partners to ensure compliance with insurance policy terms. Collaborates with staff to develop and implement improved reporting tools and systems. Responsible for set up and review for in-house managed claims. Manage University approved driver database including analysis of driver eligibility. Applies insurance policy requirements to University operations, providing guidance to operating units. Participates in the organization and presentation of the Departments information systems to demonstrate best practices. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets. Participates in risk management activities and ensures compliance with standards and regulations. Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with clients, vendors, and coworkers to promote a quality service image.

  • Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.

  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.

Department Specific Functions

  • Analyze underwriting data requirements and provide University data in appropriate context for insurance renewals.

  • Manage insurance policy renewals and validation upon delivery from broker partners.

  • Coordinate with departments for underwriting requests to ensure timely submission and insurance policy delivery.

  • Set up and review in-house managed claims.

  • Manages International Travel Safety insurance program and provides training for travelers and departments.

  • Management of driver approval process

  • Manage insurance carrier audits and program reviews.

  • Manage University bond placement and renewal process.

  • Department liaison for insurance inquiries.
