Warehouse Worker - Back Up Delivery Driver

Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive materials from trucks and transport to storage areas.
- Manually move materials from storage areas to loading dock
- Pack and unpack items to be stocked.
- Store items in an orderly and accessible manner
- Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects.
- Receive and count stock items and record data.
- Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
- Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
- Issue or distribute materials, products, parts, and supplies to customers or coworkers.
- Aid or direct other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers
- Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Recommend disposal of excess, defective, or obsolete stock
- Keep records of the use or damage of stock or stock-handling equipment.
- Prepare and maintain records and reports of inventories, shortages, shipments, expenditures, and goods used or issued.
- Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.
- Compile, review, and maintain data from contracts, purchase orders, requisitions, and other documents to assess supply needs.
- Determine sequence and release of back orders according to stock availability.
- Confer with purchasing personnel and vendors regarding stock procurement and availability.
- Operate forklifts and manual jacks safely.
- Accurately prepare orders for delivery and properly load materials into delivery trucks.
- Ensure a clean and orderly workplace.
- Ability to utilize inventory bar code equipment.
- Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
- Read maps and follow written or verbal geographic directions.
- Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.
- Safely load and unload trucks
- Deliver materials and/or equipment to the specified locations.
- Maintain records, such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements, in accordance with regulations.
- Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition - Report problems.
- Present bills and receipts and collect payments for goods delivered or loaded.
- Report delays, accidents, traffic, and transportation situations to bases or other vehicles.
- Use and maintain the tools or equipment found on commercial vehicles.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and clean work environment including delivery vehicles.
- Adhere to all OSHA guidelines and NSI Safety policies.
- All other duties as assigned.
