Why We Want You!

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our Diagnostic Imaging department where their primary role is Anesthesia. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing high-quality care to animals, playing a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective administration of anesthesia during diagnostic procedures. As an integral part of our team, you will work closely with Veterinarians, Veterinary Technicians Assistants, and other staff members.

Compensation :

Credentialed Veterinary Technicians $29.50 - $35.00

ALL dependent on education, experience, credentials, location, nature of practice, schedule and additional responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Anesthesia Administration and Patient Monitoring:

  • Administer anesthesia for a diverse range of patients.

  • Monitor vital signs during anesthesia, including heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, and temperature.

  • Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient status, taking appropriate action to ensure patient safety.

  • Accurately document anesthesia protocols, patient information, and vital signs.

  • Maintain detailed records of medications administered and any complications or issues encountered during procedures.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with doctors and team members to coordinate and optimize patient care.

  • Communicate effectively with the team regarding anesthesia concerns and patient status.

Equipment Maintenance:

  • Perform regular maintenance on anesthesia equipment and ensure that it is properly calibrated and functional.

  • Identify and report any equipment malfunctions, and assist in troubleshooting and

Skills:

  • Venipuncture

  • Catheter placement

  • Radiology

  • Anesthesia monitoring

  • Laboratory work

  • Pharmacology

  • Patient recovery

  • Compassionate care for our hospitalized patient

  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment

  • Restraining

  • Obtain patient vitals

  • Maintain accurate and complete medical records

  • Assisting our Doctor and Technical staff as needed with patient care

  • Maintain a clean work environment to maintain any infectious disease protocols, handle medical/biomedical and infectious waste appropriately

  • Maintain inventory and supplies for procedures and patient husbandry.

Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license

  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and common conditions.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

  • Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards animals and their owners.​

  • Knowledge and experience with handling and administering different drugs and following safety protocols.
