Do you have a colocation data center, Real Estate and business background with negotiation skills, financial expertise and technical background necessary to grow Amazon’s technology platform? As a Technical Business Developer within AWS Infrastructure, you will have the opportunity to help shape and execute on strategies to expand our non-standard Data Center portfolio and related infrastructure. You will help develop where we go, how we get there, and negotiate the contracts needed to provide best in market supply solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a real estate, business, financial, and engineering background that enables them to drive a data center transaction, and interact with business leaders at all levels to develop the best strategic alternatives and effectively drive those strategies to conclusion. They should have a demonstrated ability managing multiple projects simultaneously, coordinating business and technical requirements development and garnering financial approvals. They should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, market, and technical challenges with the ability to build and convey compelling value strategy plans. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary business experience to drive engagement with vendors at CXO/SVP level, along with a deep technical understanding of data center and network infrastructure. They should have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges. The ideal candidate will be a compelling communicator and be comfortable articulating complex technical and commercial structures across the AWS business. They will be a strategic thinker with highly developed analytical and modeling skills, they will have a proven record of developing long-term infrastructure plans to support dynamic, rapidly scaling businesses.

Key job responsibilities

  • Own end to end infrastructure expansion processes to support non-standard infrastructure such as Wavelength, ACE, Outpost, Ground Station, Subsea Cable Landing Station, Service Labs, etc across Americas.

  • Work with internal stakeholders to understand the requirements of our business and to help solve their technical requirements as well as the business objectives.

  • Serve as a key member of the Infrastructure Business Development team in helping to drive overall Infrastructure strategy for non-standard infrastructures.

  • Develop long-term strategic partnerships with infrastructure providers

  • Manage complex contract negotiations, both from a business and technical perspective.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, economics, engineering, or related fields

  • 3+ years experience in business development transactions, real estate transactions with significant technical components, site selection, economic development, and/or program/product management experience

  • 3+ years of knowledge and application of infrastructure development and operating environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Business, Real Estate or related fields.

  • Understanding of and experience in the Data Center industry, including data center siting and general operations.

  • Ability to understand and communicate high level electrical, power & cooling, fiber optics, and other technical requirements, particularly related to Internet infrastructure

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $73,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $177,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
