Smarter, Faster, and as always - First. That's our philosophy. Bloomberg Media empowers global business leaders with breaking news, expert opinion and proprietary data distributed on every platform, across every time zone. Like our products and solutions- our teams are agile, dynamic, and innovative. We work hard, and we work fast - while keeping up the quality and accuracy for which we're known. It's what keeps us inventing and reinventing, all the time. Our culture is wide open, just like our spaces. We challenge each other. And through our countless volunteer projects, we help bring out the best in our communities as around us, too. You can do amazing work here. Work you couldn't do anywhere else. It's up to you to make it happen.

Around the clock, from around the globe - our Broadcast Engineering team supports live production for television, radio, and digital platforms. You will do much more than keep the lights on - you'll be responsible for supporting state-of-the-art broadcasting infrastructure in bureaus across the APAC region. With over 2,700 news professionals in over 120 countries - we face exciting challenges every minute of every day.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Troubleshoot and repair faults in a timely manner, to minimise impact to our on-air product, ensuring work is logged and updated using our proprietary ticketing system.

  • Maintain an outstanding level of customer service while dealing with production and operations staff. In stressful situations, you must remain calm and reassure team members with regular proactive updates.

  • Be comfortable with flexible working hours, which includes being able to work shifts as early as 6:00, weekends and holidays if required.

  • Be a self-starter, with a can-do attitude and a passion for our programming and content.

  • Participate in technology design/redesign, installation, and integration projects with complex, pioneering technology in an increasingly digital environment. This includes broadcast equipment, servers and networking equipment.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Broadcast Engineering, Media Technology or Computer Science.

  • A high level understanding of analogue and digital audio and video signal flows.

  • Experience troubleshooting faults in baseband video signal flows, networking devices, and hardware and software across Windows, MacOS and Linux platforms.

  • Demonstrated ability to react and adapt quickly and decisively in a fast-changing environment.

  • Proven excellence in customer service, interpersonal and customer-facing skills.

  • Fluency in English is essential for this role.

  • Familiarity with standard shared documentation tools such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, SVN, SharePoint or Confluence.

We'd love to see:

  • Knowledge of specialist broadcast equipment such as EVS Neuron Video Routers, IPtec/Cobalt Video Codecs, Comrex Audio Codecs, RTS Intercom, Allen&Heath Audio Mixers, Sennheiser Wireless Mics/IFBs, SONY Cameras and ETC Lighting Consoles.

  • Understanding of IT and Networking technologies such as LAN/WAN Routing, TCP/IP, VMware ESXi, Microsoft Active Directory and simple scripting using PowerShell.

  • Experience using software such as ENPS, VizRT, Adobe Creative Suite, Blackbird, Wireshark, Nagios, Grafana, GitHub or similar.

  • Fluency in Cantonese or Mandarin Chinese.
