Position summary: JMT is seeking a motivated experienced hands-on aviation professional to manage a growing aviation staff and client portfolio in our Hunt Valley Maryland. The successful candidate will be responsible for business development, financial success, and managing staff for JMT’s Hunt Valley MD aviation department. Experience with airfield design as well as Terminal and aviation facility design is preferred.
Essential functions and responsibilities
Serve as a technical resource to our clients, project managers and technical staff
Establish resources staffing needs for the section
Interview and hire staff for the section
Coordinate strategic growth plan with office managers and practice leaders
Establish and grow market presence in area through marketing and business development
Manage financial budget for department and allocate resources accordingly
Lead and contribute to the production of proposals
Perform performance reviews for staff based on input from project managers on assigned teams
Nonessential functions and responsibilities
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited program
Professional Engineer License or equivalent
15+ years’ experience managing aviation projects and clients
Experience with FAA Airport Design Circulars and working on projects in the FAA Northeast region
Project management and business development experience
Preferred Experience
Experience working with aviation clients within the Mid-Atlantic Area
Supervisory experience
Program Management Experience is desirable, but not required
Working Conditions
Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
