Amazon Procurement Innovation Manager, S2P Excellence Innovation in Irvine, California

At Amazon, we’re working to be the most customer-centric company on earth. To get there, we need exceptional people. Amazon is seeking a Procurement Innovation Manager to join the Global Procurement Operations (GPO), Source to Pay Excellence – Innovation (S2PEi) team.

The S2PEi team embraces digital solutions and emerging technologies to enable automation of transactional procurement activities and to drive predictive strategic sourcing and proactive supplier management. The goal for S2PEi is to drive the evolution of digital procurement at GPO, to become a function that embraces technology, drives a clear digital transformation agenda and ultimately delivers value for the business that is enhanced by the utilization of digital tools, powered by procurement-specific domain expertise.

As a Procurement Innovation Manager, you will be responsible for establishing business cases for the digital capabilities, leading the development and implementation of new digital capabilities into the procurement organization that enhance procurement processes and drive value. You will build strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure the successful deployment of new capabilities, and drive continuous improvement efforts with a focus on customer experience.

This is a key role within the S2PEi team, responsible for developing future capabilities for procurement and effectively influencing decision makers to support our global digital transformation plans.

Key job responsibilities

• Lead tech and market scouting activities (internal and external) to identify new capabilities and solutions across procurement activities, building market knowledge and developing a pipeline of exploration opportunities

• Develop and present business cases for digital capability investment, demonstrating the value and ROI

• Identify new and innovative ways of working that enhance procurement processes and enable additional value for the procurement function

• Work cross functionally, interacting with all procurement teams and GPO Pillars globally to align on requirements and solutions

• Develop and maintain strong networks and partnerships, building trusted relationships and influence on enterprise-wide efforts for digital transformation

• Translate functional requirements into technical specifications

• Identification, assessment and implementation of automation opportunities across the Source to Pay cycle.

• Develop mechanisms to maintain, assess and evaluate the impact, customer satisfaction and benefits of implemented digital solutions across Source to Pay.

• Develop a product management framework and lead PM efforts for procurement automation solution in scope.

• Support the creation and operation of automation capabilities to expand the standardization and automation activities across Source-to-Pay

• Report to leadership the return on investment and value generated through automation initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience managing technical products or online services

  • Experience in product, program, or project management in leading cross-functional teams in delivery of major new products or services

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel (macros, pivots, lookups) at an advanced level

  • Experience developing operational processes and technologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of SQL and VBA at an advanced level

  • Experience building and analyzing cost/benefit scenarios and business cases and communicating results throughout the organization

  • Experience with Six Sigma tools and Lean techniques

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (i.e. SQL, MSAccess, Tableau, Essbase or Cognos)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $93,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
