Amazon AMXL 3P Procurement Manager in Luxembourg, Luxembourg

Do you want to play a role in the rapid development of Amazon Extra Large (AMXL) in Europe? If so, the EU Transportation Procurement team is for you. Our team covers End-to-End commercial activities for first mile, middle mile and last mile operations across Europe.

Amazon seeks a Procurement Manager to own and develop relationships with suppliers, develop country / program strategies for our Last Mile network and negotiate deals for our AMXL/Special Handling Heavy Bulky Carriers.

This role would have responsibility to define, develop and implement a sustainable strategy for our transportation operations in Europe both from an operational and commercial view with a goal to implement with our 3P suppliers across countries and organizations

Key job responsibilities

  • A member of the Transportation Procurement team with responsibility to drive development and roll-out of best practices to support our journey towards Commercial Excellence.

  • Develop an aligned strategy including initiatives to establish new and innovative services, drive performance and speed improvements, and secure capacity for growth

  • Engage stakeholders to ensure the supply base meets Amazon’s business needs in all areas and is prepared for future requirements

  • Establish program and supplier sourcing strategies, lead cross-functional strategic sourcing projects, negotiate with suppliers, and execute sustainable contracts to optimize Amazon’s AMXL e2e benefit and on behalf of our customers

  • Identify and implement significant bottom-line cost savings and new sources of revenue through business development.

  • Drive appropriate commercial relationships with suppliers, with a principal objective of achieving the lowest total cost of ownership that meets the business’ goals supported by a culture of continuous improvement with cost & performance benchmarks in use

  • Manage suppliers to proactively identify, monitor and optimize opportunities

  • Own supplier relationship management activities to improve performance and add value to Amazon operations

  • Establish carrier performance management, define evaluations and classifications, drive towards long-term strategic partnerships with high performing carriers

  • Develop and continually improve contract templates in alignment with internal stakeholders (e.g., align requirements for new services / align terms with finance, tax, legal); develop pre-approved standard clauses in order to maximize contract value and fulfilment of customer needs

  • Establish structured and lean contract update / renewal process and ensure appropriate contract management discipline

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Knowledge of procurement/commercial strategy definition and implementation (strong commercial acumen).

  • Excellent written skills with the experience and capability to create and present documentation to senior executives. Excellent command of the English language

  • High level of numeracy, analytical and problem solving skills. Financials understanding (ability to develop should-cost models, P&L / Balance sheet non-finance expert understandings)

  • Excellent negotiation skills with knowledge of contract law

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree.

  • Experience in wider supply chain or operations or logistics

  • Fluent in another language is a plus

  • Extensive professional experience in business development, partner development, procurement, sales or marketing.

  • Experienced in sophisticated negotiations involving senior leaders of partner organization
