Amazon Finance Manager, EU AMXL Fulfillment Center Finance in Luxembourg, Luxembourg

Location is flexible: Role can be located in Luxembourg, Madrid, Milan, or London.

Do you want to be part of an organization that is developing and launching new business models across the world? If so, the EU AMXL finance team is looking for an experienced Finance Manager with a strong record of achieving results, to own and execute high visibility, strategic and revenue generating projects. These projects include building supply chain solutions that are customized for large and heavy items. We need leaders who are capable of breaking down and solving complex problems for the benefit of our quickly expanding customer base.

The Finance Manager - AMXL will be the owner of the variable cost analysis, planning, and optimization for the AMXL Fulfillment Center network in Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

Partner with Operations to drive continuous improvement in financial and operational performance.

Support expansion projects and new business initiatives

Partner with Retail, IT, Transportation, Supply Chain teams to drive optimal cross functional decision that maximize Amazon's long term free cash flow.

Drive standardization of operational processes within the AMXL Fulfillment Center network, adopt and share best practices across Europe and worldwide.

Contribute to the next generation development of site finance planning and analysis; influence across sites and across operating countries to effect change

We seek a strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly, and consistently deliver results. You must have the capability to create and present whitepapers for senior executives, and align roadmaps with Amazon’s strategic objectives. A key to influencing stakeholders is to have the ability to solve complex, technical problems with simple, innovative and practical solutions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

You will leverage your education and work experience to lead initiatives to streamline planning/reporting, decide on investments, drive efficiency initiatives, and pursue customer experience benefits in AMXL to drive P&L benefits. The role requires an individual who is willing to work in an ambiguous environment and make a big impact. The successful candidate will have a passion for leading and developing teams and partnering closely with the operations teams to develop long term strategy. You continuously look for areas of improvement for your work and the business, in order to build scalable long term success.

Mission: AMXL Finance drivers long term cash flows through optimization of capacity related investments and co-ownership executing the fulfillment and delivery of Heavy and Bulky products across the globe.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience

  • 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience

  • 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree

  • Experience performing ad hoc analysis using advanced Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience

  • 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
