We are focused on building solutions to enable B2B customers to discover, research, and buy products and services from a vast selection, across multiple devices, marketplaces and regions. Our customers include individual entrepreneurs, small businesses to large multi-national companies that buy in either high frequency or in bulk quantities. Our B2B customers have different needs than the traditional Amazon customer and thus we have to reinvent everything from how we display our selection, price our products, and provide the right customer experience.

In this role you will build innovative, ML-based solutions to improve shopping experience of our largest Customers in the EU. You will closely work with a dynamic product management team to define areas where the science models can be used, prioritize the development of the models and overall scope the projects and design the right solutions. You will apply the latest technologies in the field of ML/AI and MLOps to implement scalable, reliable and fast end-to-end solutions.

Key job responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Account managers to identify the key areas to improve shopping experience of our customers using scientific models.

  • Collect and document requirements for the science projects.

  • Scope and prioritize the science projects and together with PMs complile a roadmap for the development.

  • Develop scalable, reliable, reproducable and efficient ML models to improve the customer experience on Amazon web-site, for example in invoicing and payments areas.

  • Work with software development teams to set up CI/CD for the production models.

  • Document methodologies, processes, and code to ensure reproducibility, scalability, and maintainability of data science projects and models.

  • Stay updated on the latest developments in data science, machine learning, and related fields, and continuously enhance skills and knowledge through self-study, training, and professional development opportunities as well as coach more junior team members in these areas.

  • Publish results of the innovative science approaches used to solve our business problems.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience with data scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R, or equivalent) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g., R, SAS, Matlab, or equivalent)

  • Experience working as a Data Scientist

  • Experience with statistical models e.g. multinomial logistic regression

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

  • Experience managing data pipelines

  • Experience as a leader and mentor on a data science team
