Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for quality system development and supporting product quality improvements.

• Work independently and provide technical training and mentorship to junior engineers, technicians, and inspectors.

• Perform analyses of program requirements and prepare quality plans, procedures, schedules and resource allocations to assure optimum quality support.

• Review and approve engineering drawings, test plans and procedures, and contractor documentation to assure that appropriate quality and customer requirements are met.

• Provide ongoing quality system support to include performing internal audits, ensuring implementation of root cause corrective actions.

• Lead product quality improvement teams, Material Review Boards, and Failure Review Boards to determine root cause and implement effective corrective actions.

• Evaluate and disposition non-conforming material.

• Provide technical support for Assembly/Test/Inspection personnel including: executing workmanship improvement plans, determining inspection methods and criteria, sampling plans, interpreting and revising specifications

• Lead in resolving customer quality issues and driving root cause and corrective action for process, product, and supplier quality issues.

• Assist in developing and deploying SPC initiatives.

• Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer.

• Evaluate and make recommendations on critical supplier selections and drive supplier continuous improvement, including on-site audits, evaluating prototypes, and reviewing supplier corrective actions.

• Gather and report yield data, including status of RCCA implementations.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field and a minimum of 3 years of experience.

• Experience with ISO standards, Six Sigma tools, statistics, FMEA, DMAIC.

• Ability to understand military product specifications and interpret engineering drawings.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to negotiate with teams and work independently.

• Ability to create accurate problem statements and drive root cause and corrective action implementations.

• US Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such a clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
