PURPOSE The Area LOB Manager will have market-wide responsibility for all aspects of a BFS Line of Business. Lines of business include truss, millwork, cabinets, installed windows, and Ready-Frame. Manages all aspects of assigned LOB in single large facility or multiple locations in a market to achieve maximum sales and profits with available resources by performing the following duties ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for the overall management of all aspects of the assigned Line Of Business including production, sales, customer service, inventory management, delivery, human resources, safety and administrative activities. Manages subordinate managers who manage various departments and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these departments. Oversees the daily operations of Line of Business locations. Plans and directs these functions in order to meet operational and financial goals for the location. Oversees the development and implementation of the purchasing and inventory control programs to meet inventory levels and turns. In conjunction with location and regional management develops operating budgets and capital expenditure recommendations in order to meet operational and financial goals for the location. Communicates and enforces company policies and procedures as they pertain to the daily functions of all locations, as well as Sarbanes-Oxley requirements as they pertain to daily operations. Supports and reinforces company safety initiatives to ensure all OSHA and DOT requirements are adhered to. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees and addressing complaints and resolving problems. Motivates employees, maintains a productive workforce and trains successor management. Reviews and approves wage and salary increases and establishes objectives and performance measures. Obtains feedback on customer satisfaction. Responsible for budget accountability and reporting as it pertains to the financial goals of the company. Works to establish standard cost, operating budgets, and acceptable inventory levels. Monitors expenses and creates new methods to improve each location's financial performance. Other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and four years related managerial experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have prior experience in building materials industry. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
