Take a business concept from scratch and build up a picture of the flows and data requirements – 'roll up your sleeves and get on with it attitude'
Translate a business concept into a technical delivery for a data scientist to build a model
Be confident in operating in a greenfield space where information can be extracted from external and internal sources but building up the big picture requires diligence and digging
Using python/ SQL be confident in running small scripts to investigate data stored in a Hadoop/ HDFS data lake
Build Tableau reports to get a concept across to a user group and use the tool to distill large amounts of information in a business friendly manner
Define requirements and support model implementation in the form of writing detailed specifications including assisting data scientists to write model documentation for productionisation
Work efficiently under pressure and adapt to changing requirements in an agile manner

Group Treasury is responsible for the efficient management of UBS's financial resources and ALM is a trading business that manages UBS's balance sheet portfolio risks. Together, they manage and optimize the Banks consumption of balance sheet capacity, capital, liquidity and funding and manage the risk exposure of the consolidated balance sheet.
Your team focuses on Intraday Liquidity Management. The Data Analytics team is tasked with optimizing the intraday liquidity usage across multiple dimensions including UBS legal entities, accounts and currencies. The team builds technical models and works on a big data analytics platform using Hadoop/ HDFS technologies and primarily Python development. The work done by the team directly contributes to the departments financials by driving change in the way trades are booked/ settled, the way buffers externally are set and the way modelling assumptions are prescribed and used in regulatory models
University degree in scientific/ mathematical discipline preferred
Some experience in a quantitative finance role specifically with experience of Python (Pandas and Numpy) and SQL
Strong analytical skills, mathematical fluency, and programming abilities with Python are must-have's
Hands-on experience with big data analytics and working with unstructured data
Highly numerate with logical analytical thought process and attention to detail but also able to distill complex problem sets into easy to understand solutions and explain to a user base their findings
A strong communicator (written and verbal), comfortable interacting with colleagues at all levels
Able to work with a vague concept but break down the problem and seek the information from various sources to build up the big picture
Able to deal with changing requirements and challenges, to juggle multiple deliverables simultaneously

an organized individual who is able to prioritize activities and follow them through to completion
eager to solve complex problems with multi-disciplinary teams
fluent in English (other languages considered a plus)
