We are looking for an Operational Risk Manager to:

  • Support the Chief Risk Office (CRO) GWM team with coordinating regulatory responses and publish into our UBS proprietary database (SORT).

  • Ensure reporting for senior management and meetings with regulators is timely and accurate

  • Track issues and actions in SORT and ensure updates are entered timely

  • Prepare governance and risk committee presentations and complete meeting minutes

  • Prepare ORI and MLSI reporting to the senior committees

  • Support the drafting of Issue and Action Plan closure packs, ensuring adequate and sustainable remediation that align with the Operational Risk Framework and GIA assurance expectation

  • Transaction testing of controls and business processes to validate alignment to policy and/or procedure

  • Prepare regular and ad hoc risk reports

  • Maintain a database of items that meet the firms data quality and integrity

  • Organize and facilitate various regional and global operational risk changes and initiatives

  • Support the control environment through effective KPC/KPCis and maintain accurate records through SORT

  • Support the semi-annual design and operating effectiveness assessments of function Key Procedural Control Instances (KPCis), work with team leads to ensure appropriate scope and coverage exists for their respective areas of responsibility

  • Review control assessments independently and ensure evidence supports results

  • Act as contact to support Independent Management Testing Team (IMT)

  • Provide support to special projects as well ad-hoc requests in GWM CRO related to Risk Governance

Your team:

You’ll be working in the US Enterprise Wide Risk Governance and Compliance team providing assistance for global risk initiatives in GWM as well as supporting the GWM US Chief Risk Officer within the context of an extensive mandate including a change initiative. We are a small, committed and dynamic team of professionals supporting the GWM business aligned Control Function.

Your expertise:

You have:

– A university degree (Bachelor in Economics, Finance, Business Administration), or similar – experience in a similar role (or are committed to a career / role change); experience in risk is a plus – the ability to work independently and proactively in a competitive environment

  • The ability to collaborate well within the team and across teams / layers, you are a team player and like open dialogue and exchange

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to persuasively communicate complex issues timely and clearly

  • Experience in project management

  • Skills relevant to operational Risk or SORT tool is helpful. Ability to follow up on aged or problematic issues and escalate as needed is important

  • Analytical and enjoy problem-solving

  • Flexible and capable of prioritizing based on business demands

  • Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills

  • Very well organized and know how to manage competing priorities

  • An excellent communicator able to communicate effectively across teams and with Senior Management

  • Proficient with MS Office suite especially PowerPoint, Word and Excel with fluency in English (written and spoken)
