Come work for an agency that works everyday to make a difference for the children of Utah. The Utah State Board of Education (USBE) is seeking an individual to be part of the School Children s Trust team that implements the School LAND Trust Program.  The focus of the incumbent is to oversee and organize training provided by the School Children s Trust Section to School Community Councils,Charter Trust Lands Councils and LEA Boards.  The incumbent will report to the School Children s Trust Director at the Utah State Board of Education. When applying please attach along with a resume,three references. Principal Duties: As the Training Specialist,you will:

• Coordinate and oversee statewide training offerings and opportunities for School Community Councils,Charter Trust Land Councils,LEAs and LEA Boards. Some training requires travel to the school,LEA or conference. Other training is conducted online through ZOOM and YouTube using training applications such PowerPoint,Biteable,Canva,Qualtrics and Loom.
• Schedule and coordinate training for Utah PTA,Elementary and Secondary Principals,Charter Schools,Rural Schools,Utah School Boards Association,charter school conferences and others upon request.
• Create training modules,PowerPoints,videos,documents,etc. for in person and online training.
• Potential travel,including day,evening,and overnight trips,to provide in-person training to LEAs.
• Provide ongoing professional learning for the School Children s Trust team.
• Read School LAND Trust Plans and Reports for compliance.
• Participate in other compliance procedures,including reviewing school website postings,reviewing district and charter school compliance reports,and to provide training and support towards improved compliance.
• Provide support to LEAs and councils as they administer the Program locally.
• Participate in ongoing team risk assessment and Procedure preparation for Program implementation and training.
• Provide support to the Trust Lands Advisory Committee,who advise the Board on trust and council issues.
• Participate with the Trust System entities in increasing communication and outreach with policy makers,beneficiaries,and the public including through social media.
• Maintain the School LAND Trust webpage,including ensuring the website is up-to-date and analyzing website usage through Google Analytics.
• Support the Director in administering the School LAND Trust Program.

Ideal candidate: Ideal candidate for the position has:

• Excellent written and communication skills

• Experience training adults and/or K-12 students

• Experience creating online and web applications for training and communication

• Experience using common computer applications,ie: Word,Excel,Microsoft 365,Google Suite,ZOOM,YouTube,Listserv,Loom,Canva,and Biteable

• Will be comfortable working with a small team within the Utah State Board of Education

Preference Preference may be given for the following:  

• A Bachelor s or Master s degree in Education or related field
• Experience or knowledge related to the School LAND Trust Program
• Spanish language skills
