Role description

The opportunity

As a member of Unity's Offerwall Security Operations team, you will work within the Offerwall engineering group applying security practices to improve application, infrastructure, and operational security. You will help SecOps drive a "shift left" culture for application and infrastructure security throughout the development lifecycle.

You will also design and implement solutions for protecting our massively distributed ad serving platform with a DevOps oriented mindset, empowering developers to manage these solutions themselves with SecOps involved in change management. While you are primarily focused on security principles and practices, you understand software development technologies and methodologies throughout the software stack.

What you'll be doing

  • Triage incoming requests, requirements, and incidents from Unity's security tooling and dedicated application and infrastructure security teams - you will gather context and requirements for satisfying these requests, translate them into units of work, and then collaborate with engineering teams to drive work to completion

  • Design & implement systems and patterns for detecting and remediating security vulnerabilities and breaches

  • Support engineering and data science teams through continued education and consultancy on secure coding best practices - you will lead a "Security Champions" working group made up of a subset of engineers from the Offerwall engineering group

  • Lead Secure Design Reviews of new engineering features and projects while they are in the planning process

  • Maintain a broad view of ongoing changes to our technical systems, constantly asking questions and driving a more secure software development lifecycle

What we're looking for

  • Proactive mindset oriented around impact, quality, and continuous learning

  • Strong project management and cross-functional communication skills

  • Experience developing performant, maintainable software in a distributed environment in terms of both systems and people - we release changes to multiple systems tens of times every day

  • AWS experience - our infrastructure is mostly AWS-centric, including heavy usage of IAM, RDS, EC2, EKS, SQS, and so on

  • You remain abreast of emerging security practices and threats, proactively monitoring and upgrading security measures

You might also have

  • Google Cloud Platform experience

  • Experience with Cloud Security tools such as Orca, Ermetic, Snyk

  • Experience with intrusion and vulnerability detection & prevention within cloud-oriented elastic architectures, as well as application vulnerability analysis
