Description

We are seeking a dedicated Billing Clerk to join our team in the Southborough, Massachusetts area. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of our insurance claims, issuing billing statements, working with insurance companies and patients, maintaining accounts receivable, and assisting office managers in enforcing proper financial policies.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of our insurance claims

• Receive and process patient claim data and submit insurance claims for visits and procedures performed

• Issue billing statements to patients when necessary

• Collaborate with insurance companies to monitor claims status, pursue and dispute claim denials, elevate claims to appeals, and seek all methods to resolve open claims

• Assist patients by explaining their account history, communicating our financial policy, and addressing their questions on insurance or billing items

• Maintain accounts receivable aging reports and constantly review and resolve past due, credit, and debit balances

• Support office with properly communicating with patients regarding pre-payments, open balances, and past-due accounts

• Issue regular reports on accounts receivable and billing performance

• Support office managers in enforcing proper front desk, treatment plan, and in-office financial policies

• Assist in other billing and credentialing matters as needed.

This role requires proficiency in medical coding, medical billing, medical claims, medical collections, medical denials, medical records, medical terminology, Medicare, insurance claims, Medicaid, MS Excel, Ecw, and eClinicalWor

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a role as a Billing Clerk or similar position

• Proficiency in medical coding and medical billing procedures

• Experience with medical claims, medical collections, and handling medical denials

• Familiarity with medical records management and medical terminology

• Understanding of Medicare and Medicaid insurance claims processing

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for data entry and analysis

• Experience with eClinicalWorks (Ecw) software is a plus

• Knowledge of insurance claims procedures and policies

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• High school diploma or equivalent; further education in Finance or related field will be a plus
