Description

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Director of Operations to join our team and drive our mission forward.

Job Summary: The Director of Operations ensures the smooth and efficient functioning of our organization, requiring strategic thinking, robust project management skills, and exceptional budget management. This role oversees multiple projects, manages financial tracking using QuickBooks, and handles comprehensive HR functions.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management:

  • Plan, execute, and complete projects.

  • Implement project management best practices.

  • Coordinate teams to meet project goals.

  • Monitor progress and update leadership.

Budget Development and Management:

  • Develop and monitor the organizational budget.

  • Provide financial analysis and forecasting.

  • Ensure compliance with financial policies.

  • Present financial reports to leadership.

Financial Oversight:

  • Ensure financial accountability and minimize risk.

  • Comply with regulatory requirements.

  • Follow Financial Management Policy.

  • Protect assets through audits and insurance coverage.

  • Support Finance & Audit Committee and board reporting.

  • Stay current with industry standards and best practices.

Financial Management:

  • Oversee accurate financial reporting.

  • Supervise QuickBooks management.

  • Maintain financial data integrity.

  • Conduct financial audits.

Human Resources Management:

  • Update the employee manual annually.

  • Oversee HR information system and confidential files.

  • Administer benefits and employee programs.

  • Ensure compliance with employment regulations.

  • Oversee employee onboarding and terminations.

  • Address employee concerns and manage engagement surveys.

  • Support recruitment and hiring of office staff.

  • Participate in safety compliance programs.

Office Administration:

  • Organize office procedures for efficiency and safety.

  • Improve communication protocols and streamline procedures.

  • Manage vendor contracts and office supplies.

  • Participate in company event planning and execution.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, HR, Non-Profit Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).

  • Minimum of 5 years in operations management, preferably in a non-profit.

  • Proven project management and budget development experience.

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and financial software.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Schedule:

  • Regularly scheduled for 40 hours per week.

  • May require additional hours for deadlines or events.

  • Occasional morning, evening, or weekend work may be needed.

  • Travel within downtown Spokane may be required.
