To achieve this goal, the Cloud AI & Advanced Systems Engineering (CAASE) team is instrumental in defining and delivering operational measures of success for hardware manufacturing, improving the planning process, quality, delivery, scale, and sustainability related to Microsoft cloud hardware. We are looking for seasoned engineers with a strong passion for customer focused solutions, insight and industry knowledge to envision and implement future technical solutions that will manage and optimize the Cloud infrastructure.

We are looking for a Senior Hardware Engineer to join the team to support hardware validation, motherboard CPLD code development and influence future generations of AI hardware. Our team collaborates across different organizations in Azure to support design of custom AI and compute hardware. We immensely value culture, mentorship, and acting as a unified team. Responsibilities

· Develop CPLD RTL code for Host Motherboards that implements custom power up, reset and management functions.

· Write CPLD validation infrastructures, test benches, bus models and IO transaction models.

· Work with internal and external partners to define and specify board level validation and test requirements and ensure execution.

· Work with partner teams to support silicon bringup and silicon validation.

· Work with partner teams to create bring-up, test, and end-to-end system validation plans to ensure complete board level coverage.

· Collaborate with partner ODM/OEM companies in test, debug, and validation area.

· Plan lab, system hardware, test equipment, and test content availability for validation.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

· 5+ years’ experience developing and testing CPLD/FPGA code.

· 5+ years’ experience developing and testing HW power on, reset, and board management functionality.

· 5+ years’ experience developing CPLD/FPGA test benches and bus models.

· Experience debugging CPLD/FPGA code deployed in data centers.

· Experience with basic board level electrical validation.

· Experience using high-speed scopes, Logic Analyzers, etc.

· Experience executing HW validation and functional test plans.

· Experience working across disciplines and organizations

· Fundamental knowledge of the following HW design principles: Electrical Engineering, Computer Architecture

· Excellent Team Player

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience with high volume hardware production.

· Experience leading planning and running regular status and execution meetings.

· Experience SoC BIOS/FW
