The GOM Surveillance Engineer will be part of the GOM Prod Engineering Data Mgmt Department and will support the Gulf of Mexico Business Unit in managing both short and long term planning as well as in controlling program execution while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. This will be done by working closely with the Assets, Plants and Operational Support groups to gather, analyze and reconcile all necessary data to allow execution of these plans.     

•Support Production Engineering by developing tools that support production improvement initiatives and increase well performance. 
•Search for ways to automate and scale time series data solutions across the business
    - Manage by exception workflows
   - Condition based monitoring and alerting
•Data projects
    - Perform exploratory data analysis in search of new data solutions
   - Present findings to end users to align on project deliverables
   - Advise team of data best practices including data pipeline design
   - Manage project through development and production phases
•Serve as mentor and coach to promote, support and deliver digital solutions and aptitude within the business unit and to central functions.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelors in Engineering
  • 5 Years of Experience in Production Operations or Well Engineering 
  • Strong scripting/programming skills (Python preferable)

Desired: 
• Petroleum Engineering preferred
• 5 Years of Experience in Well Engineering

•  Strong time series surveillance background (eg. OSI PI, PI AF, Seeq)

•  Strong scripting/programming skills (Python preferable)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
•  Working knowledge of machine learning application (eg. scikit-learn)
•  Working knowledge of SQL and process historians 
•  Delivers positive results through realistic planning to accomplish goals
•  Must be able to handle multiple concurrent tasks with an ability to prioritize and manage tasks effectively
