Community Health Systems ER Technician-FT Night Shift in VICKSBURG, Mississippi

Description

Under the direction of emergency department leadership, the Emergency Room Technician assists in the care and treatment of emergency room patients and performs clerical work essential to department daily operations. Duties include but are not limited to personal hygiene, collection of vital signs, assist nursing and/or physician staff with procedures as needed, unit cleaning and stocking.

The ER Tech may assist in the coordination and clerical support activities to patient care teams and acts as a focal point of communication. Duties include answering telephones, filing, greeting visitors, electronic data entry and assisting with documentation. Must be able to read and write the equivalent of 8th grade English. Completion of a program for emergency medical technician, nursing assistant, medical assistant or related discipline is strongly preferred. Acute care hospital or emergency services experience is preferred. BLS Certification is required (or within 30 days of hire into the position) and CPI Certification is required (or within 90 days of hire into the department).
