The Quality Intern is a 10-week paid summer internship that will work within the Industrial Engineering team under the guidance and supervision of the Quality Manager. The intern will be working with the Quality Manager and the Quality Team for the duration of the internship assisting with several projects in the plant. The internship is an onsite role that will be based out of our Walton location.
The internship program begins June 3rd and will go until August 8th.

Key responsibilities for this position include:
Assist in facilitating Document Control program, with direction and support from Quality Management team
Work with cross-functional leadership team, towards the end of ensuring all appropriate documents are uploaded and accessible
Update documentation pertaining to the HACCP system and Quality Procedures. Review accuracy of flow diagrams and other HACCP documentation on the floor
Participate in activities related to follow-up of actions and investigation of food safety and quality incidents.
Learn and understand dairy/food manufacturing processes
Learn and understand the Lactalis engineering function and DA process
Participate in quality and production meetings to understand the Plant’s daily operation

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:
Candidate will possess or be pursuing a BA or MBA, with a specialization related to food science, technology, food engineering, or agricultural preferred
Proficient in MS Office
Strong analytical skills
Proactive and results-oriented in a time-sensitive environment
Strong oral and written communication skills, including reporting and presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to maintain flexibility in an ever-changing environment
